Alex & Hannah Wotherspoon's English Summer Fete & Garden Party Wedding Day

I imagined Alex & Hannah's day to be a bit like an English Summer Fete or garden party, lots of colour alongside an atmosphere that is a picture of quintessential English elegance. Like any English Summer Fete I've ever attended the weather was typically English...

Rachel, Gary & I had a wonderful day, there was lots of our favourite flowers, lots of colour and lots and lots of flower lovers, as a florist who could ask for more?

Helen, Hannah's gorgeous Mum is an avid gardener(Her garden seriosuly is a credit to her) , Hannah herself adores flowers and as such they wanted to create a marquee wedding that truly represented their love of flowers and colour.

Anyway here's the flower story; gorgeous vivid coloured pew end designs complete with Miranda Roses, Phlox, Craspedia and Monte Casino.

The huge pedestals were a riot of colour with towering pale blue delphinium, lots of David Austin's finest including their brand new rose Darcy (The deep pink one)
The altar flowers right at the back were done by Hannah's grandmother and were beautiful

The Lytch Gate was dressed with fresh hops, Nigella and English Roses.

Then to the Brides family home to deliver the bridal bouquets, the house was a hive of activity with Antonia and her team from Icon in Liverpool doing all the hair and Chloe from Cedar and her girls doing all the make up.

Hannah loved her bouquet, I really enjoy this part of any wedding day, the flowers have the brides full attention.

The Bridesmaid's having the bouquet holding lesson.
Lovely Elsa was the perfect bridesmaid and carried her bouquet beautifully all day.
Hannah's Mum Helen with her handbag corsage and a little glimpse of her glorious garden.

Back to St Nicholas, the porch looked exquisite with tiny posies of fragrant Roses & Dahlias and baskets of Rose Petal cones. I decided to keep the two Nephrolepis ferns inside as it was just too windy for them outside.

Fresh Jasmine has a fragrance that fills an entire Church.

Then the boys arrived Kilts and Illios Rose, thistle and Heather Boutonniere's

The Grooms Parents Norma & Richard, complete with Boutonniere & Wrist Corsage of Phalaenopsis Orchids.

Tamsin with her simple corsage and little Noah with his Rolled Rose petal tiny buttonhole.

Hannah's super handsome Groom Alex, with Patience Rose, fresh Heather and thistle Boutonniere

Alex wore the Wotherspoon Tartan Kilt.

Victoria & Becky were the two Maid's of Honour and looked absolutely perfect, Hannah's Mum Helen made their beautiful primrose lemon gowns.
Their bouquets were a cocophony of colour with lots of fabulous fragrance.

I included Patience & Miranda Roses, Oncidium Orchids, Brodea & Ageratum in each Bridesmaid's Bouquet.

The handles were bound with the same primrose fabric.

Abby Wyldes was the lovely and generous photographer from OK Magazine you can see her beautiful work in the Magazine this week.
How fabulous does Helen look, we loved her hat, Rosie had created a corsage to dress her handbag.

Maddie is Hannah's younger sister, she looked so happy all day.

The arrival of the most beautiful of Brides, Hannah's Wedding Bouquet which included hand tied style with David Austin ‘Patience’ roses, Illios roses, Oncidium Orchids, Eryngium, Veronica, Dill, Stocks, Monte Casino Daisies, Ageratum, Stocks and Brodea.

St Nicholas in Wrea Green is a very special Church with a very special vicar Wes is amazing and makes us all so welcome as do all the ladies and gents that look after it, it is a pleasure to work with such lovely people, we were all offered toasted buttered tea cakes and cups of tea, it makes such a difference, so it's no wonder this Chuch is one of the few that are jam packed week after week.

Hannah wore Ian Stuart - Belgravia

Hannah's utterly beautiful gown was made for her by Ian Stuart and her Jewellery was also hand made by Hermione Jewellery.

Huge Congratulations from all of the team at Flower Design to the new Mr & Mrs Wotherspoon.

The Flower Design Floral Seating Plan was perfect for this wedding.

Hannah had made her own Name Cards with pressed flowers from her Grandmother's Garden, Rachel then tied them to the table centres.
Bird Cage, Tea Sets, Cake Stands and Candleabras were the designs selected for the table centre pieces.
The Cakes I think were made by Hannah's Aunt and they looked and smelled delicious.

The Highgate String Quartet sounded superb.
Percivals were in charge of all of the catering their Canapes looked delicious.
The last few words on this posting belong to Hannah, Alex & Helen ..."We can't tell you how thrilled we were with the flowers, they were truly magnificent and exquisite, the Church seemed to be filled with flowers, a wonderful sight to behold. The sun shone Hooray, but the very best moment was when we walked into the marquee, we stopped to take in the scene of flowers, candles and guests with fabulous hats, it was everything we had dreamt of , so Thank you all very much"
