Katy & Simon Mill's "Chocolate & Roses" Flower Design Wedding Day at The White Church & The Grand Hotel, Lytham St Annes

Saturday morning was as you may remember blustery to say the least, gail force winds, thunder and lightening, so we made an early start of it and arrived just after nine at The Grand Hotel to deliver Katy's bridal flowers.

We packaged them up inside The Grand before going up to the bedroom so as to avoid wind damage. But as many of you "Sand grown 'uns" will know our weather can alter dramatically throughout a day, Katy & Simon's wedding day was no exception... We had sparkly magic wands for the two Flower girls and posies for the adult Bridesmaids.
Katy & her Mum Julie getting to know the flowers within the bridal bouquet Katy's Flower Design Bridal Bouquet: I'd included a fabulous selection of Roses in soft toffee, caramel and clotted cream shades they were Metalina, Champagne, Quick Sand and Vendella, lots of berries; Snowberry, Hypericum and Skimmea, some lovely autumnal grasses and Oak leaves.
Originally this bouquet was to be a little more trailing but given the weather I altered it very slightly to a more compact design which I knew would be more comfortable to handle and less likely to become damaged.
Niki & Shona practised carrying their bouquets
Julie wanted a magic wand but had to make do with a very elegant corsage instead

This coppery brown Cymbidium Orchid was a perfect choice for Julie's Corsage
The White Church, almost disapearing against the grey sky, I had to wear my big FD winter coat and was pretty much blown across the road.

Simon wearing a dark brown suit and pale latte scrunchie tie, his boutonniere included a Quick Sand Rose, Hypericum Berries and some white Heather in honour of Katy's Scottish heritage.
The Ushers wore Akito Roses with Heather & Thistles to compliment their kilts.
Anais with her very magic wand, she waived it into the sky and made a wish that it would turn bright blue!!

Sophie the other totally beautiful flower girl
The Magic Wands have a small nosegay of fresh roses.
Waiting patiently and making wishes
Buttoniere's can go anywhere

Julie & the Bridesmaid's arrived looking only slightly windswept
The Bride arrived in one of Clouds finest cars

Katy's dress was a Maggie Sottero designer bridal gown from Tye The Knot
Reverend David Phillips is just brilliant, we had an American bride once who
said he had "Star Quality & Stage Presence" just what you need form a Minister eh! he's also really lovely and seriously thoughtful, we love him!!! Katy looked beautiful!

A very proud Dad

And two very cheeky chauffeurs
The White Church is so majestic inside
We were entertained by the very brilliant Leyland Male Voice Choir (sorry I couldn't find a link for them but they were sensational)
Now can you believe it, those magic wands really worked and a blue sky was enjoyed by all...
Huge Congratulations to Katy & Simon

Then back to The Grand for the Wedding Breakfast, this is a fabulous hotel with a superb reputation for banqueting...
Vicky & Shirl had made a combination of tall conical vases filled with a crab apple jelly and topped with an elaborate hand tie and then low posies placed in "Malteser" vases
The top table had an array of fresh roses in all of the different shades to dress it.
My own personal heart throb the amazing and wonderful "Howard Wing" was there to entertain everyone in his own stupendous style!
Thank You so much to Katy & Simon for allowing Flower Design to be a part of their very special day.
