Today we had a little trip up to The lake District to meet one my lovely brides at her wedding venue up in Kendal, I'll tell you more about that tomorrow.We had a great trip, the weather was perfect, lots of country lanes lined with daffodils, rolling hills and superb countryside complete with spring lambs.
On the way back we stopped at a fantastic pub for lunch The Highwayman, we enjoyed delicious local produce, beef from a local farm with perfectly cooked veggies and then the most stupendous Apple Pie ever eaten, light sweet pastry packed full with flavoursome apples, on the side a hunk of Lancashire cheese and jugs of Carnation Milk & proper custard.
All the staff were lovely and there was a really warm cosy atmosphere, with roaring fires, we weren't expecting a treat, we just needed feeding, but we had a great experiencee, I love it when your expectations are greatly exceeded.
