St George's Day Festival, Lytham Hall

We were thrilled to be involved in this fantastic event. As a life long florist I remember the days of queues outside my parents shop for Red Rose Buttonholes on St George’s Day, I have vivid recollections of all the local churches having fabulous floral decorations in celebration of St George.

The flowers that we’ve provided are our way of re-capturing the spirit of St George’s Day celebrations of yesteryear and hopefully a re-awakening of national pride in our Patron Saint.

We were truly delighted to be invited to participate in raising funds for such worthy charities and can’t think of a better way of doing it than this wonderful St Georges Day Festival.

For those guests who wanted to enjoy these fabulous flowers at home and to continue the St Georges Day celebrations they very generously placed bids for these fantastic designs complete with the containers provided by Sharon Haythornthwaite.

Paul Rowley and his team of chefs and waitresses provided a sumptuous banquet.

Remember Secretaries Day Thursday 16th April

Your Secretary Could Be The Most Important Person In Your Life!!

He or she is your right hand, your assistant that also acts quite often as your manager and organiser.

This person knows everybody and everything.
You can depend on him or her: a good secretary.
Sometimes your secretary may be your much adored wife or husband who acts as your administrator in all areas of domestic and social management.
Presidents, managers and directors depend on their secretaries very much.
Of course they should show their appreciation for the excellent service that is provided every day.
However, sometimes, because you are too busy or often away for business trips, you don’t realize how valuable your secretary is.
Therefore you need to remember Secretaries Day once a year, a day when you can show your appreciation with beautiful fresh flowers.
And all secretaries and wives love flowers!
Remember Secretaries Day 16th April 2009 send her some flowers just ring the team at Flower Design 01253 727722 and organise a beautiful bouquet to be delivered tomorrow

Ashton Memorial, Williamson Park Christmas Party Night

The Ashton memorial in Williamson Park, Lancaster was the venue for the annual "Peter Jackson the Jewellers" Christmas party, the party space was absolutely spectacular and so typical of Peter, he always thinks outside of the box and comes up with something utterly unique. The Ghost trees were frosted with silver glitter and fresh orchids and roses were clustered in groups on the trees.
At flower Design we always get very excited at the prospect of working on a "Jackson" event, Peter always allows you the opportunity to come up with some great designs and he and his staff are so appreciative of our efforts.

The conical vases were filled with cranberry jelly and topped with Ilex Verticularta, Pinus Strobus, Grand Prix Roses and long trails of White Phalaenopsis Orchids, we sat them on 12" Mirror Plates sprinkled with Diamante dew drops, Candles and fresh Rose petals.

The jewellery from Peter Jackson is quite simply exquisite and we have recommended him to lots of our bridal couples for wedding rings in fact they supplied the rings for Fiona & Chris two weeks ago and they were really thrilled with the service and the jewellery of course.

Jason chatting with Mr Jackson Peter's Dad. This is Extreme Catering, the Chefs from "With a Twist" cooking outside in the bleak mid-winter. The Ashton Memorial has no kitchen or cooking facilities on site, indoor kitchens are just for pansy chefs I'm told, these boys are real mean cooking machines!

Turkeys on the BBQ.

The view of Lancaster taken from the window of a moving Transit Van with very frozen hands, but we felt this captured the moment.
