The Magnificent Samlesbury Hall Wedding Open Evening

It was still daylight when the doors were opened to this magnificent Tudor wedding venue Samlesbury Hall for their open evening where Brides & Grooms were invited to enjoy not only the magnificent hospitality of the superb C&B team including Canapes and Champers but also to view the Civil Ceremony Chapel and the magnificent Banqueting Hall all dressed to impress!

The very lovely Lindsay & Angela who organise all things wedding at Salmesbury Hall, they do a truly fabulous job ensuring their Bride's and Groom's have the most special day of their lives!!! This is such a unique civil ceremony space, it's steeped in history and even has a minstrels gallery so some of your guests can enjoy a "Birds Eye" view of the proceedings!
We'd dressed the Registrars Table with a candlelit design and arranged posies on some of the chairs

This traditional design is perfect for using on the top table later or for dressing the piano or any of the sideboards or ledges throughout the hall
The Pew End Chair Dressings are arranged on alternate chairs, we've used a combination of Roses and Lissianthus, Lemon scented Wax Flower and fragrant Freesias, I love the idea of the Bride wafting past and the sweet fragrance of the flowers being carried up the aisle with her.

A very elegant silver baroque style candelabra dressed with lots of lovely fresh spring blooms including Tulips, Ranunculas, Hyacinths and Wax Flower a lovely fragrant vintage table design

Top table swag style centrepiece dominated by a cluster of chapel candles and fresh flowers creating a lovely focal point just in front of where the Bride & Groom would be seated, this design is created to enhance the swagging navy voile across the front of the table. Hurricane lamp table centrepiece, lots of lovely fresh fragrant flowers surrounding a large chapel candle in the centre of a glass hurricane lamp. I love these Verdi Gris urns these can be partnered with the gorgeous verdi gris candelabras and look fabulous in more rustic locations.

A silver fruit bowl filled with fresh flowers the perfect low design partner for the silver baroque candelabra most people choose to have half of their tables with the higher candelabras and half of their table dressed with the silver fruit bowl.

The Verdi Gris Candelabra a little bit more rustic and it take long elegant candles giving it a completely different look

So now it's gone dark the lanterns and candle trees outside the front door look fabulous

The two tiered more gothic style candleabras have flowers arranged on two levels, the black wrought iron work looks great with the antique clover style floor standing candelabras provided by Samlesbury Hall, I think the hurricane lamp design is the perfect low table design partner for these fab table centrepieces

The Lovely Howard fabulous Master of Ceremonies he really does a great job we see him in action regularly and he can be booked directly through the team at Samlesbury Hall

So this was a fabulous evening attended by lots of great Brides & Grooms

Ingrid & Alan's Magical Wedding at The Great Hall at Mains

So the very first wedding from the brand new Flower Design HQ, Shirl, Vicky & Ruby felt like they were on their holidays working in their uber clean new surroundings and I have to say the bridal work produced for this wedding is simply sublime I do feel immensely proud of of our team and this was one of those days when I just felt proud enough to burst!!!!.

~

What a wonderful wedding to work on too, spectacular flowers, a truly gorgeous family, one of our most favourite wedding venues The Great Hall at Mains, glorious weather what more could anyone ask for???

So first stop was The Shard Riverside Inn, where our uber excited bride Ingrid was getting ready, she looked positively dreamy and her beautiful cascade bouquet of dancing white Phalaenopsis Orchids looked totally perfect with her tulle wedding gown

The Great Hall at Mains was in mid preparation, when we arrived a good three hours before the ceremony, the candles needed to be lit and the black carpet laid down not to mention an elegant sprinkling of pink rose petals but all of this was yet to be done and for now, the two huge vases of pink Blosssom and Hydrangeas stood proudly at the foot of the aisle on draped pedestal stands with the ginormous vases on either side of the fireplace including 8ft tall Prunus and willow, Lilies and Roses, but there was still plenty more to come... The two vases at the foot of the aisle, I love them, I think they really frame the space beautifully, they draw the guest into the ceremony area making it feel special and contained, The Great Hall at Mains is a really terrific venue, it has a majestic, worthy of marriage atmosphere, and the aisle feels as close as possible to a Church aisle, seriously making the most of fabulous wedding gowns with long lustrous trains, giving a bride a good long walk up, an opportunity to let her dress have centre stage, and to be honest there really aren't that many civil ceremony venues with that possibility!! Some of the candelabras lined the pre-aisle just a bit of a scene setter and making the most of the flowers

The registrars table design was split across both registrars tables, it's a special Flower Design creation inspired by "The Hanging Gardens of Babylon" the flowers are arranged along the edge of the table cascading over the front in a sort waterfall style This table on the left of the room is where the registrar actually records the marriage where as the larger table on the right is where the Bride and Groom sign their marriage certificate
On the backs of each alternate end chair along the aisle we'd arranged a delicious nosegay posy of Roses, Sweet Peas, Lissianthus, Lemon fragranced Wax Flower and Eucalyptus all beautifully sweet scented so that when the Bride wafts up the aisle and possibly gently brushes against these gorgeous flowers their exquisite perfume is released and enjoyed

The two gigantic vase pedestals framing the ceremony space looked amazing

The ceiling drapes, chair covers and sash heart shaped brooches were all supplied by the brilliant Dawn from Creative Cover Hire

Now complete with Black Carpet, Candlelight and fragrant Rose Petals
Ingrid's handsome Groom Alan wearing a Phalaenopsis Orchid Boutonniere to match his Bride's exquisite wedding bouquet of beautiful matching Phalaenopsis

The Groom's Men & Ushers were all wearing Sweet Avalanche Boutonnieres in their Buttonholes

A seriously splendorous team looking after the proceedings, the lovely Mel from TGHM, the Super Talented and totally gorgeous Howard Wing wedding singer extraordinaire, Lizzie whose very last day it was as part of the Dream team (we're really going to miss you Lizzie!) and of course the fabulous Registrar Kerr Andrew who always conducts/officiates over a truly splendid ceremony, he always manages to be the consumate professional whilst ensuring a really personal, intimate service.
A very gorgeous page boy Ring Bearer wearing a miniature Sweet Avalanche Rose Buttonhole

Ingrid's fabulous Mum, looked every bit the part of "Mother of the Bride" we'd created an epaulette corsage of Rolled ivory Rose Petals, Lissianthus Buds, Hydrangea florets and diamante sprays, some delicate variegated ivy leaves and a simple ribbon completed the design.

The vase on the end of the bar just completes the overall look it enhances the "Congratulations" blackboard and re-enforces the feeling that this space belongs to the wedding!

So the scene was fully set candles lit, Flowers in place and it was time for "Lights Camera Action"The Bridal Party arrived in the most magnificent style, these wonderful Shire Horses pulling the carriage were quite honestly breathtaking from Latham Shires Ltd

The Cascade wedding bouquet of all white Phalaenopsis Orchids with simple grasses and French Ruscus was just so light and delicate to handle
What a truly magical scene

The gorgeous Chriss manager of The Great Hall at Mains

Huge congratulations to the very happy couple from all of the events team at Flower Design

Then outside to enjoy the splendid gardens of TGHM and have some fabulous pictures taken whilst the ceremony space gets magically transformed into the most grand banqueting hall

Our great friend Joe Hargreaves from specialized Cakes creating one of his magnificent white chocolate masterpieces, Joe and his wife Janine really are artisan cake makers creating something really special every time!

The "Hanging Gardens of Babylon" design has now been co-joined and created a glorious garland along the length of the table complete with crystal candle sticks and candelabras

Each dining table had a silver baroque style candelabra in the centre sat on a mirror tile

The chair dressings were moved to the light fittings around the room to add colour and texture around the hall

The overall look had quite a vintage atmosphere for the wedding breakfast

I love candelabras as table centrepieces they always create such a romantic atmosphere

The tall vases were placed at either end of the top table to frame it perfectly

The stationary was provided by Ivy Cottage cards who'd done a really splendid job

What a truly wonderful and memorable wedding day, huge thanks to Alan and Ingrid for choosing to use Flower Design for their wedding flower styling
