This is an epic posting exactly what you'd expect from this epic wedding day!
I have had a few weeks to compose this tale of trust, longevity, divine spring flowers, an incredibly beautiful couple and very possibly my all time favourite Bride's Mum and our rather special "Florist & Client" relationship.
Our floral alliance is a long one, I've created flowers for "Mrs Twitchett" for more years than either of us care to remember, she has on many many occasions insisted I call her Gilly, but old habits die hard and quite simply you can't teach an old dog new tricks so Mrs Twitchett will remain Mrs Twitchett but always said with enormous affection!
As some of you may remember (I have tried to forget) I was very poorly at the end of 2010 into the start of 2011, I was in hospital for three months, this coincided with the Twitchett's & Pomroy's initial plans for this very special wedding, now this is the thing, Mrs T knew I would be better, she was prepared to be patient allowing me time for a full recovery (A few clients weren't quite so trusting but that I believe is their loss!) Lilly & Mrs T booked the date and waited for our "First Appointment" this meeting was indeed a milestone and it's been onward and upward ever since (The week before Camilla & Matthew's Wedding I got the all clear from my consultant!), so huge thanks to Mrs T for her patience, it was definitely worth the wait!!!!
One year on and here we are at FD HQ creating the flowers for Camilla & Matthews Wedding Day...
By Friday afternoon the table designs were beginning to take shape
Friday evening saw the ginormous Church Pedestals come to life Shirl & I were making them as mirror images
By 5am Saturday morning the Boutonnieres and Bridal Bouquets were almost completed
Ruby & Josie were putting the finishing touches to the top table design "Hanging Gardens of Babylon"
Jason & Malcolm loaded up the vans on this gloriously warm and "sunshiny" April day, the first stop was of course the Bride's home to present the wedding bouquets...
Camilla who even managed to look gorgeous in rollers! and Rupal were complete naturals at wedding bouquet carrying
Then we were off to "Our Lady Star of the Sea" to complete the dressing of this beautiful Church, two huge pedestals were placed on either side of the Altar, designed to frame the ceremony, representatives of the Bride & Groom's Guardian Angels
The pedestal designs mirror the arch shapes within the Church itself
Two arched designs on either side of the Tabernacle, the 3 metre tall Phoenix Palms co-joined to create an arch
The aisle was lined with elegant Blossom Trees and low Pew End Posies to ensure everyone had a great view of the action!
The low Pew end Posies were created from David Austin's English Garden Rose Keira and the Dutch Rose Memory Lane, with Peonies & Sweet Peas
At the very beginning of the aisle our FD Events free standing arch dripping with jewels, Roses, Peonies, Lilac and Jasmine
Camilla's super handsome Groom Matthew was first to arrive, we'd created an elegant Rose, Lily of the Valley and Hydrangea Boutonniere for him to compliment his Bride's Bouquet
Julian, Camilla's brother was wearing a Sweet Avalanche Rose with fresh Jasmine in his Buttonhole
The Groom's lovely parents
Rupal looked fabulous, her Bouquet included Lilac, Pink & white Lilac, English Garden Roses, Sweet Peas & Peonies
The two stunning Flower Girls were next to arrive wearing fragrant Jasmine and the English Garden Rose Keira in their hair
Oh how totally fabulous does Mrs T look!!!!
Just love those shoes...
Camilla's entrance was honestly breath taking
Huge Congratulations to the brand new Mr & Mrs Pomeroy!
Camilla's heavenly wedding bouquet included a delicately shaded collection of soft pale pink and palest lilac Spring blooms including fresh Lily of the Valley, Peonies, Sweet Peas, Jasmine, Lilac, Pink & White Lilac, David Austin Roses and a selection of Dutch Roses including Memory Lane, Sweet Avalanche & Bombastic, the shades were chosen to compliment the blush pink details on her exquisite wedding gown by Phillipa Lepley
Fresh Fragrant Rose Petals were handed out in anticipation of a Rose Petal Shower
The celebrations moved on to the wonderful surroundings of The Grand Hotel in St Annes
The spectacular table designs were created on tall silver candlesticks
We moved all of the pedestals from Church and re-arranged them to fit in the spaces at The GrandEach Table Centre included 40 Roses in assorted varieties of soft Pink shades, 12 heads of magnificent Hydrangeas in Pink & White, 20 stems of Peonies, 15 sprigs of Astilbe, 20 Prunus branches, 10 Stems of Lilac, 10 Astrantia, 10 Spirea, 5 Trails of Scented Jasmine and a Plethora of Foliages
Delicious Grand Canapes
Dawn & Aarron from Creative Cover Hire swathed the ceiling in white voile sails, the room was totally transformed
The completed "Hanging Gardens of Babylon" Top Table design, trails of fragrant Jasmine cascaded over the front of the table with long stems of pale pink and white Sweet Peas, Roses, Peonies, Lilac, Hydrangeas and Viburnum Opulus dressed the table top
The Photographer for the day was another of my all time favourites the wonderful Phil Garlington! I really can't wait to see his images of this fabulous day!
RT Productions were in charge of filming the day
We'd transferred the arch from Church to The Grand where it framed the entrance to the Wedding Breakfast
The following day we re-arranged the big pedestals and table centres and distributed them to the Bride & Groom's family and friends...
This was such a joy and a huge pleasure to work on, many, many thanks to Camilla, Matthew & Mrs T for allowing us to create flowers for such a special day (Thank you so much for my lovely gift, we intend to enjoy it on "Diamond Jubilee" Day)!!!
