November Private Dinner at Number One South Beach

Number One is an exceptional smaller venue , a jewel in the crown of our Fylde Coast, it's ideal for private dinners & business meetings alike, this dinner was a bit of both, so Mark head chef and owner had asked for us to create some simple designs to include Lancashire's Red Rose and a touch of Tangerine for BFC We'd arranged posies of Cherry Brandy, Grand Amore & Red Ribbon Roses in Mirror Cubes, simple and luscious





I paid Mark a visit in the kitchen whilst he was preparing a delicious Lancashire feast for his guests, the Steak & Kidney Puddings were being lined, Lancashire Hot Pot was well under way

50th Birthday Celebrations at Number One South Beach

Number One South Beach looked stunning on Tuesday evening for these very special 50th Birthday celebrations 









The table designs were simple and slightly masculine perfect for this gentleman's party




We included Black Calla Lilies, Anthuriums, Gloriosa, Gerbera and Hydrangeas

When Disney Came To Town

Our great friends at Number One South Beach hosted a private dinner party following The Blackpool Master Class yesterday.

The guest list included Scott Milligan from The Disney Institute, David Cam from Blackpool Pleasure Beach, John Childs from the Sand Castle, Darren Webster from The Zoo, Tracey Bell from Scream, and Blackpool Council and Blackpool Tourism and Regeneraton, Mike Appleton, Claire Smith from Number One Hotels, Alison Gilmore from Imperial, Mike Wilkinson from Lancashire Tourist Board and the lovely people from Quest for Excellence

We dressed the tables with Red, White & Blue Cubes of Gerberas, Anthuriums, Hyacinths & Eryngium

The Superb Lancashire Menu was totally delicious & Included Lancaster Smoke House Trout Pate, Bury Black Pudding, Sandhams Goats Cheese, Lancashire Faggots & Beef tea (served from an enormous brown tea pot), Gressingham Duck, Fleetwood Halibut and a trio of Lancashire delicacies; Steak & Kidney Pudding, Lancashire Hot Pot & Beef Hash served with Parch Peas & vinegar yum yum! to finish Bread & Butter Pudding with custard & Apple & Blackberry Crumble with Rice Pudding.

The thing is in Blackpool we know how to do things really well with bags of passion and bucket loads love, we love our town, we love our culture and sharing that with the folks from the Disney Institute is our pleasure and privilege, so I'm dead proud of Mark and Claire for putting on such a fabulous dinner and I'm sure that all of the guests went away feeling very proud to be in Blackpool!

The Number One Flower Design Wedding Supper Club March 2010 Photographs by Jonny Draper

Welcome to Number One South Beach and our very special Wedding Supper Club designed to inspire, excite & enthuse our lovely Flower Design Bridal couples for 2010 & 2011We invited all of our Brides & Grooms, their Mums & Bridesmaids to come along for a totally fabulous evening of food, flowers, Champagne and everything bridal, this is an evening where talking about weddings is absolutely top of the agenda.

The entire evening was filmed by "The Fenton Experience" all our brides will be sent a copy over the next few days even if you couldn't be there, you still won't miss out.

We invited Claire from Clarins in JR Taylor to come along to help our girls with their skin care regimes and how to create a very natural look for the "Big Day"

Hair Dresser Simon Parsons was creating "hair ups" to die for on our lovely models

Everyone had an opportunity to chat & sip Champagne

Before we moved into the dining room, where evryone was presented with a corsage or buttonhole

I welcomed everyone

And introduced our "Makeover" models, Olivia, Claire, Sarah & Ben Then we got down to some serious wedding bouquet designing

Which everyone seemed to enjoy

This is one of our gorgeous brides Isobelle having a little practise with my Phalaenopsis design

We made lots of different styles of wedding bouquets and all the ladies had an opportunity of test driving them

Our fabulous models showed them all around the room

During the evening we enjoyed excellent presentations from Jill from Colour Me Beautiful, Janet Fenton from The Fenton Experience, Jill from Dreamcatcher Bridal and the most brilliant presentation by Jonny Draper about how to select and then how to make the most of your photographer on the day (I'm going to do seperate posts on these subjects because they were so thoroughly good they deserve more space and more respect)

We played around with some wrist corsages and buttonholes

Throughout the evening our guests enjoyed a delicious five course dinner

The amazingly talented and very special wedding singer Howard Wing entertained everyone, he also shared with us some fantastic tips for how to go about finding and booking the very best entertainment for your wedding.

I made a church pedestal and a table design The very lovely Katie from The Little House of Cup Cakes provided a fabulous wedding cake the entirety of which was enjoyed by us all with coffee

Then the finale of the evening

The exquisite gowns were provided by the very best wedding dress shop Dreamcatcher Bridal In Kirkham

The models entered the room to massive applause and a shower of fresh fragrant rose petal confetti

Sarah is one of our Brides for this May and Ben is the manager of Rowley's Catering, they were both quite perfect.

Sarah was wearing my all time favourite designer Suzanne Neville and Ben's suit was also provided by DreamCatcher

Olivia was the Bridesmaid and I adored the shade of her gown with her skin tone, perfect choice!
