We're Off To Cook with The Hairy Bikers....

Jason, Rebecca & I have been invited to the BBC (Television centre no less) to cook with the Hairy Bikers (I am so scared I'll get Si & Dave muddled up) for their brand new TV series, this is a photograph of one of our practise efforts...

Venison & Fig Tarts

We are all a little excited after all 2 nights in London and some visits to some top notch eateries are on the agenda, who wouldn't be excited!

So we're taking off Sunday at the crack of dawn, rehearsing all afternoon, out for dinner in the evening, (St John is my restaurant of choice), then filming all day Monday, out for dinner again, who knows where and then despatched back up North on the first Train back Tuesday morning.

Visitors to The Flower Design Studio Yesterday; Elana & Oli from the BBC & Lots of My Lovely Friends & The Lovely Andy, Erica & Ava McDonald

So we had some interesting visitors this week, not least Elana & Oli from the BBC who were looking to recruit some top notch Fylde Coast cooking talent for The Hairy Bikers new TV Show, so I invited some of my serious amateur "chefing" buddies round to have a chat with them, so in the picture are from left to right the fabulous Gail Hunt, Ben Glover, Elana, Oli, Gill, Amy & Tony Burn (Not in the picture but definitely in the frame for a possible tv appearance are some more of my great friends Sheree Reece, Deborah Horsefield and Stewy Vuitton) so you'll have to look out for it in the Autumn.

Then a little while later a surprise visit form the fabulous Andy McDonald (McDonald Photography) and family Erica & Baby Ava, it was lovely to see them, they were on The Fylde visiting their graphic designers and thought they'd just pop in to say hello, which was a lovely treat for us!

The Filming at Flower Design was a full day last summer and it's unbelievable how little footage comes from so much filming.

Richard & Judy's Book Club on St Annes Beach Today

Sally & I were asked to review The Senators Wife by Sue Miller for Richard & Judy's Book Club, the filming took place today on our magnificent Beach and also on the terrace at The Island.

Liz Coverdale whose birthday it was today was presented with a beautiful Flower Design Hand Tie, you may recognise Liz as one of our lovely Supper Club Ladies. Happy Birthday!!!

The Senators Wife is an interesting read for a Book Club, I can't honestly say I enjoyed it but there was plenty to discuss and debate, the book is available from our great friends Sue & Elaine from Silverdell Book Shop in Kirkham. Sally having her interview on the beach (St Annes Beach is truly gorgeous and today it looked like the Med)

Me doing mine, Sally was far better than me, she'd made notes and everything, as you may expect she's always so effecient and uber prepared.
