Erica & Jeremy Whittle 15th November 2008

The day started with a lovely drive across an autumnal landscape, the sky was blue and the pale wintery sun shone perfectly, the leaves have all fallen leaving the trees naked for the winter and lonely apples not quite ready to hurl themselves to the ground, I donned my huge fur lined Uggs, layered myself up with thermals and felt ready to create fabulous flowers for Erica & Jeremy.

We arrived at Erica’s house in Great Eccleston bright and early, it was cosy and extremely calm, Erica as always looked serene and in control, we did a little wedding bouquet holding lesson, pinned on Dad’s boutonnierre showed Mum her handbag and set off for the church.

We were a little too early and dropped in at Pebby’s Bakers (A very proper English Bakers in GE) for a packed lunch (Roast beef salad) and our evening meal (Fish Pie).

We arrived at Copp Church and met up with the Vicar and a lovely lady who showed us where everything was to go, I adore this Church and the Vicar does a fabulous sermon, he seems seriously in touch with the world.

Jeremy and his party arrived we attached button holes, straightened ties and took a few pictures. Jeremy wore a bouttonirre designed to compliment his brides bouquet, we used a Schwartzwalder Calla Lily, Rosemary and fresh Lily of the Valley together with fresh berries.

Jeremy’s best man and Groom’s men all had Metalina Rose Buttonholes with Skimmia & Steel berry.

This is the very handsome Groom Jeremy.

Bride’s Mum Pat had a glorious outfit in kind of anthracite, coppery shade, we gave her a little brightness with a handbag corsage of cream Cymbidium Orchids and tiny Copper spheres of rolled bullion.

The Bridesmaids looked exquisite, their bouquets had a luminous quality about them, the berries seemed to glow, we used quite a combination of Steel, Skimmia & Calicarpo Berry alongside Amnesia Roses and Callas.
Emma, Donna & Lorraine were all quite brilliant, they carried their bouquets like professionals.

Joan had a handbag corsage created from rolled rose petals and White Phalaenopsis Orchids, this complimented her outfit marvellously.

We were absolutely thrilled to be working with the amazing Steve & Stephanie from Ashton Photography, they are supremely capable, thoroughly confident and professional, but apart from these attributes they are fantastically creative and it is always a joy to work with them both, I wait with excitement their images.

Clouds Cars brought Erica with her lovely dad William, we made him a buttonhole to co-ordinate with all the chaps, a Metalina Rose.

Erica looked so fabulous, her gown was beautiful.

Erica seemed so relaxed yet very excited.

The very happy couple, many congratulations to both of you.

Erica's bouquet was designed to capture some of her love of the outdoors, recognising the season but still complimenting her wedding dress perfectly, we used Avalanche, Amnesia & Metalina Roses, Arabicum, Lissianthus, Hydrangea, Fresh Lily of the Valley, Schwartzwalder Calla Lilies, Mini Alliums, fresh herbs including Rosemary & Eucalyptus and lots of Berries.

The magnificent Bartle Hall looked perfect, the guests were warmly welcomed with hot winter Pimms in the courtyard, by extremely attentive staff, Tracey had been in charge all morning laying the place settings which were done immaculately (as a florist you always notice how clean the tables look because our flowers look better next sparkling glass ware).

It was lovely to meet up with a Couple we created wedding flowers for a couple of years ago Paul & Julie Whelan and another gorgeous couple Heather and Ben who will be getting married August 2010 so it was a bit like Past, Present & Future Flower Design Brides.

The Balmoral Suite at Bartle Hall had been dressed by Creative Cover Hire, as we have come to expect from this first class company the chairs and Top Table dressing all looked sumptuous

We designed two heights of table design for Erica & Jeremy, tall elegant vases, with purple callicarpo berries reaching for the ceiling, sat on large 12” mirror plates dressed with fresh rose petals and tea lights in frosted votives. The lower designs were centered around a Hurricane lamp layered with fresh berries and a huge chapel candle, the Orchids, Callas, Roses and purple Brassica surrounded the lamp, we used lots of fragrant herbs eucalyptus, Rosemary and dried lavender all of which perfumed the air when the warmth of the candle released their perfume.

The cake was dressed with fresh flowers used in the bridal bouquet.
