The Great Hall at Mains Wedding Planning for 2009 & 2010

This weekend is the perfect time to vist The Great Hall at Mains, not only will you recieve the usual warm TGHM welcome but you'll also have the opportunity of seeing the room set up for Civil Ceremonies & Banqueting.
Opening Times are as Follows Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th 11:00am until 4:00pm

If that wasn't enough you'll also have the pleasure of meeting with or seeing first hand the work of some of the very best wedding service providers in the North West.
The first of these is the very wonderful Chris Astbury from The Astbury Studio, Chris is truly a master of his profession, I really love his work and I am in bewildered awe of how fantastic my flowers look on his photographs, how alive and fresh they look compared to my own haphazard efforts at photgraphy. Chris is also an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to work with, he has a wonderful Girl Friday Gail who is just brilliant at sorting everything out and getting the right people in the right places, I am always really chuffed when we're doing a wedding with these two, the last one was in November heres a link Su & Andy Miller.

The tables and chairs have been dressed in a selection of wintery shades, Ebony & Ivory on the round table & Chocolate & Cream below, Creative Cover Hire have sprinkled their magic and provided the perfect backdrop to our seasonal floral designs, this is a link to another Christmas Wedding.

Adele & Roger Yeoman's owners of The Great Hall will be there along with their wonderful team headed up by Chriss to inspire, advise and excite you with ideas and suggestions for your wonderful wedding at The Great Hall at Mains.

We have of course decorated the Ceremony Space and the Dining Tables with an abundance of beautiful seasonal designs.

The Candelabras are simply perfect for the Hall as they create height as well as a cosy atmosphere, their proportion is absolutely spot on with the massive expanse of ceiling which is so much a part of the appeal of this fabulous venue, check out Mark & Claire's Wedding (just click on their names to link) it was back in November but the Hall looked magnificent.

This is the effervescent Janet Fenton from The Graham Fenton Experience, Videographer to the stars, this isn't any ordinary wedding video company this is film making par excellence! if you've been put off by unprofessional amateur videos and have decided against videoing your big day, you absolutely have to have a chat with Janet because she really will show you a whole new world of Wedding Filming that even I didn't know exisisted and I know you'll be really glad you did! Go on click on the purple name. We worked on a wedding with Janet back in December you'll be able to see her in action on some of our snaps here's the link Katy-Ann & Matthew Crone

A File bursting with Thank you letters always a good sign, I always want to see testimonials and cards etc. they give you a proper impression of the services the company provides, I really love it when people say that we exceeded their expectations because I know those expectaions were really high to beigin with.

This is our registrars table design, I always imagine this creating a floral frame around the Bride and Groom click on Chris & Fiona to see their Civil Ceremony at The Great Hall a couple of months ago, there is a really good shot of the two of them signing the register, it's one of my favourite pics of last year.

There are some of my all time favourite photographers there this weekend, Steve & Stephanie from Ashton Photography, these two are a fabulous dynamic husband & wife team, we did an amazing wedding with them last Christmas Eve at TGHM which was featured in Wedding Ideas Magazine last month (Just click on the purple words to see more). We worked with them on a really autumnal affair back in November there are some shots of the two of them in action just click on the link Erica & Jeremy. I always feel that everything is very proper and correct, you know i's dotted tee's crossed and so on, I know that they'll never miss a trick and I feel supremely confident in reccomending them.

Pedestals are really important, they create a majesty, they make the space worthy of a marriage ceremony. Originally they were designed to depict your guardian angels to protect you from bad spirits, incidentally this is also why you carry a wedding bouquet in front of you a bit like a shield, but for those of you only interested in aesthetics pedestals provide a fabulous splash of your signature colour and make the most superb photographic backdrop if the weather isn't all you want it to be for those all important group photos.

This is Dulcie and the team from Twelve, Twelve is officially one of my most favourite restaurants on The Fylde Coast, If you haven't been you have to go, the food is more than scrumptious, the presentation sublime and service is exceptional so what more could anyone want, well you could want them to start an outside catering and events business which they have just launched, so I'm sure I'm going to be seeing a whole lot more of them!

How exquisite do these little morsels of loveliness look? all by Twelve of course(The first Twelve click will take you to the Restaurant whilst the second will take you to their event management site) . I love the fact they've used one of our photos on the back page of their brochure which is truly gorgeous, the brochure that is not my picture of a marquee.

The difference between with and without chair covers is quite striking. If you look through our blog you'll see loads of Creative Cover Hires work all of which is first class and fabulous.
Close up of the top table design with sprinkles of fresh white rose petals and diamante dew drops.
This is Chris Hurst, Magician extrodinaire, this a fabulously entertaining chap and I am always mesmerized when I see him in action. If his web site is still under construction this is his email chrishurst@fsbmail.net

I love the winter weddings here with the big roaring fire it's so romantic with all the candles lit too.

There are also the lovely people from Jet Set Limousines and if a limousine is what you'd like this an exceptionally good company to deal with.
This is Rob from The Fearless Brothers, we did a wedding with him last summer in a marquee on a farm, the weather was really terrible but Rob managed to fill the marquee with sunshine

Andy Boyle from Cam Scott Leisure, these guys provide great entertainment for weddings and family celebrations, they provide all sorts of things including fantastic Casinos.
The top table is always the focus of the speeches so it's imperative to dress it beautifully, we sometimes use the registrars arrangement on the top table which makes perfect sense.

With a Twist & Heathcotes are also both there and both fabulous caterers, The Great Hall have got a fantastic team of suppliers on board.
Vicky Scott from "With a Twist" is seriously impressive, my daughter Rebecca thought she was so on the ball and organised that if you were a bride you'd simply have to book with them! We've done quite a few events with them over the past few months here are some links so you can see some images of canapes, staff and even the "Extreme Chefs" in action, they are an all round talented team and a great pleasure to work with. The Peter Jackson the Jewellers do & Mark & Claire Kilroy

Fylde Bridal Cars were also on hand to advise you on transport for your big day, their cars are always immaculate, beautiful and most importantly on time!.
When we took all of these images Heathcotes had't set up their stand so I'm sorry not to have any photographic evidence, again we have worked with them on many occasions and they are always superb, here is a link to an event we did with them, look out for the jacket folded napkins, Christmas Wedding.
It really is worth a visit!
