Centenary Celebrations for Blackpool Fylde & Wyre Society for the Blind, Re-Christened Nvision

Margaret Gough very kindly invited us to these very special celebrations at Sharples Hall, Bosworth Place, Blackpool yesterday, The Blackpool Fylde and Wyre Society for the Blind has been providing support since 1910 to help anyone with reduced vision living in our area regardless of age or means.

We were greeted by The Town Crier of Kendal, Richard Matthews (he is a superb Toastmaster too).

The very lovely Kevin Winkley was very much in charge and gave us a potted history of The Society which started life a hundred years ago and has been doing magnificent work ever since, here's a link to their website which very much explains all. Jimmy Armfield CBE, OBE and all round gentleman unveiled the new name NVision The totally amazing Margaret Gough one of the Trustees and "Brains" behind these celebrations.
We all bought bricks for £10.00 each to help build the brand new Low Vision Centre for locally visually impaired people.
