Open Evening at Dan Kerr Bridal

On Wednesday evening Dan Kerr Bridal hosted a superb evening to show their 2010 collections, lots of blushing brides attended and had the unique opportunity of asking the models to try on gowns for them, they could ask the girls what these gowns feel like, they could look at them objectively without being in them themselves.

This is the second one of these evenings which are the brainchild of Stephanie, Sheree and all the wonderful team at Dan Kerr.

We were entertained by the very talented Paul Guard We provided bridal bouquets for the models to carry and enjoy.

This Phalaenopsis Cascade was made by our lovely Rachel

The brides were enthralled by Jonny's exquisite albums and slide shows

These were our fabulous models Sancha, Shannon, Becky and Emma they did a tremendous job and looked utterly stunning all evening.

These fabulously professional images were all taken by my dear friend Jonny Draper you can see lots of photographs from the evening by following the link

The Curls & Swirls of Carol & Paul Hudson's Wedding Day at St Thomas' Church Garstang & Mitton Hall Whalley

The day was glorious, and everyone was on top form, by the time we arrived in Garstang to deliver the bridal bouquets we'd already been to Whalley and dressed the tables, the girls had been to the hairdressers and the very lovely Angela Robertson (Photographer) was at the house capturing all those "Getting Ready" moments.

So I handed out the bridesmaid's raspberry pink bouquets and we did the "Bouquet Holding Lesson"

Then to our beautiful bride Carol and Flower Girl Grace

The loops and swirls so beautiful in Carol’s wedding gown were to be reflected in the fresh flowers we created for the day, I chose Butterfly Orchids as their shape and colour reminded me so much of Carol’s amazing dress, the swirly, ruffled taffeta feel of the Raspberry celosia and beautiful shape of Calla Lilies representative of the shape and cut of the skirt. These round shapes, curls, swirls, loops and spheres were to be motifs throughout the day.
We met up with the very handsome groom Paul at St Thomas' in Garstang an absolutely immaculate and extremely well loved Church.
The Church was dressed with two tall wrought Iron free standing contemporary pedestal stands with complimentary fresh flowers created in a sculptural style with huge loops and swirls of flexi grass and a selection of fresh signature Orchids, Callas & Celosia together with gorgeous blousy Peonies & tropical glossy leaves surrounding a huge chunky pillar candle

On the Bride's Family Pews we placed a fresh corsage of Orchids, Calla Lilies and Celosia in memory of Carol's Mother Sue who passed away just a few weeks ago.

On every other pew I attached a simple nosegay of fresh flowers tied with a raspberry ribbon

For the Groom’s Mum Irene Rosemary had made a luxurious corsage to dress her handbag using fresh beautiful flowers including Germini’s, Delphinium heads and Orchids to compliment the style, colour and size of Irene’s handbag

The Groom Paul was wearing a grey lounge suit with a raspberry striped tie and a matching Waistcoat we created an individually designed boutonnière for Paul created from a small “Red Lips” Phalaenopsis orchid with raspberry Celosia and a diamond pin finished with the stem bound in silver bullion, to compliment his tie perfectly.

David & Ian wore a boutonnière consisting of a signature Calla Lily together with key elements used in the bridal bouquet.

We always pin on all the buttonholes it's one less thing for the bridal party to worry about

We dressed two Bay trees with fresh Germini at the entrance to Church.

The Vicar Michael Gisbourne of St Thomas' was just lovely, calm and patient, Carol was about 45 minutes late, but given that this was a Thursday afternoon (he would probably be less relaxed if this were a Saturday afternoon) he let Angela take the usual photographs of Bride & Bridesmaids arriving, his sermon was excellent, in no way rushed, he was sensitive but still ensured a joyous celebratory feel to the occasion. He also let everyone throw rose petal confetti within the Church Walls now this does make this Reverend a serious hero of Flower Design!.

The Bridesmaids arrived first in this fabulous white Taxi

The Bridesmaid's Elaine, Phillipa and Diane carried bouquets of Raspberry callas, Raspberry Celosia with loops and swirls of Flexi Grass and rolled aspidestra and Dracena leaves edged in Raspberry and whafts of fragrant Jasmine.
Gorgeous Grace carried a wand designed to reflect the swooning loops of Carol's gown I used innocent Raspberry Sweet Peas in this bouquet and the super handsome Jacob wore a simple Ivory Rose Bud in his lapel.
To everyone's relief the bride and her lovely Dad Denis arrived (Can you see the anxious faces reflected in the window)

AngelaRobertson doing her stuff getting everyone posed perfectly The bouquet I created for Carol was in a “Flower Design” hand tied style with Red Lips Phalaenopsis orchids, Raspberry calla lilies, Raspberry Celosia and Flexi Grass Loops and swirls and bear grass trails with just a few diamante pins, the bouquet was finished with a white tulle handle

Carol was wearing the most fabulous wedding gown designed by Suzanne Ermann.

All of the children were presented with super soft white teddy bears a little something to keep them occupied in Church.

The Church was full of Paul & Carol's friends and family

All of the team at Flower Design are so delighted for Carol and Paul and we want to wish them both a long and happy life together, Congratulations!

Fresh Fragrant Rose Petal Confetti
Every Bride should know how glorious this feels to be showered by David Austin Rose Petals

Then we all trekked across country and through the Forest of Bowland to Whalley for the beautiful reception at the magnificent Mitton Hall

Here's a fabulous couple Victoria & Peter Robinson click on their names to link back to their wonderful January wedding Day at Stanley House, they're now expecting a baby later on in the year so many congratulations to these two lovelies.

Even the canapes had curls and swirls, I have to say the staff at Mitton Hall are simply brilliant, this waiter was lovely with everyone.

Carol & Paul had considered every last detail, the cake in this ruffled taffetta design, swathed in some of the fabric from Carol's gown and topped with Orchids.

These towered candy jars looked fabulous with Callas swirled around the inside.

The Pedestals from Church were carefully re-arranged and placed in the room in order to give height and texture.

The pew ends were put into vases and placed on the windowsills around the room

Barry from Mitton Hall runs a very tight ship, I always feel immensly confident when he's in charge evrything seems to run so smoothly.

The Corsage for Sue, Carol's Mum was placed on a memory table just as you entered the room.

Here's Angela doing what she does best, we've worked with her on lots of weddings but haven't seen each other for about a year so it was a lovely surprise to be working with her, Angela is one of those fab photographers that seems to have massive respect for everyone from the Bride & Groom, The Vicar to the florist including the caterers and everyone in-between, she quitely and calmly gets on with it, grateful for and generous with information in equal measure, totally un-flusterable and always smiling. Check out her web-site it's lovely Angela Robertson

Jason & I had a great day with Carol & Paul, this was such a well planned and thought out wedding day and everything looked exactly as they wanted it to because they had put so much into the organisation, it really was a credit to both of them and I'm sure Sue would have been very, very proud.
