The Marriage of Antony & Rebecca Brookes on Saturday 6th June 2009 at St Cuthbert's Church, Lytham & Celebrations at The Grand Hotel, St Annes

Saturday was definitely a day showered with blessings, when we arrived at Beckie's house the heavens had well and truly opened but the "Sunshine Colours" Beckie & Antony had chosen illumniated the day and brought smiles to everyone's faces. Beckie's gorgeous nieces Heather (Lemon) and Eleanor (Orange) were given their very special magic wands, gifts from the "Flower Fairies", they were given extraordinary powers enabling them to make wishes come true, however there is a little time delay on these wishes and they could take up to a month to come true, so please be patient all of you lucky recipients of magic wishes.

Beryl our lovely Bride's Mum is no stranger to the role, we created the flowers for Helen's wedding six years ago, so Beryl's a professional "Mother of the Bride", it was so calm and relaxed at the house, platters of sandwiches and lots of laughter, perfect...

The very lovely Jane Shaw from "Pure Beauty" in St Annes was doing a beautiful job of Helen's (Chief Bridesmaid) make up when we arrived.

Mark & Helen

The Bridal Bouquet in citrus shades with Gerbera, Germini, Celosia, Mango & Lemon Calla Lilies, with rolled Aspidestra and Flexi Grass loops.
I bound the handle with chocolate brown ribbon and cinnamon coloured cord.
Beckie has the most expressive face, I love it when our brides are so excited by their bridal bouquets.

Then to Church to meet Antony and pin his distinctive boutonnière on, we used a Mango Calla Lily, a smidgen of Celosia, Gold bullion sphere and flexi grass loops.

The Ushers and Father's wore a mixture of Orange & Yellow Germini Buttonholes.

Inside the exceptionally beautiful St Cuthbert's Church we arranged very tall simple sunshine pedestal designs with lots of Gerbera, Germini and Calla lilies together with some lovely glossy foliages and Grass loops.

On Pews we designed nosegays of brightly coloured Germinis with Alchemilla Mollis & Dracena. The brief from Rebecca was very clear that all of the designs were to be very neat, tidy and compact, so with this in mind we created all of the flowers in a tight clustered style.

In the porch area we lined up glass and mirrored cubes with fresh Gerbera & Germini sat on jelly.

Groom's Mum Pat, wore a lovely complimentary suit in a bronzey, chocolate brown, we designed a corsage in a vivid orange shade including Roses, Kalenchoe and individual Gerbera Petals to ensure it remained light and delicate.

Groom's Father sported an Orange Germini to co-ordinate perfectly.
Kevin & Anita from K & A Photography were the brilliant photographers on the day, we had recommended them for this wedding and I was so glad we had when I saw the weather, they are always a joy to work with and their work is just beautiful, I know I keep going on about this each week but it is essential to hire a "Proper Photographer" they know what they're doing, they can cope if the weather is inclement (You still get great shots cos they have the equipment and more importantly the skill) and most importantly they know how to make you look the very best you can on a photograph, please don't leave it to chance.

Here Come the boys...

Lots of friendly faces John & Jenny Edwards

The Taylor Family

And the Girls...

Helen & Julie wore lovely Chocolate Brown dresses and carried very simple bouquets of Calla lilies in Mango & lemon and assorted citrus shaded Gerbera & Germini, I bound the handle intwo places and used cinnamon cord in a spiral.

Rolling out the red carpet...
The fabulous Volkswagon Camper Van, it'd come all the way up from Kidderminster for the wedding, it looked superb.
Beckies feet did't quite reach the floor and they never touched the ground all day!.

Canon Andrew Clitherow conducted the service and was outside to meet and greet the bridal party.

Rebecca's gown was from Dreamcatcher Bridal and is by Benjamin Roberts, "Blue by Enzioani, Alpine" and she looked so gorgeous in it.

Beckie was only very, very excited!

The ceremony was fabulous it is one of the best ceremonies I've sat in on this year, with bottles of Champagne (You had to be there) and brilliant readings and superb singing.

I really enjoyed Simon Lodge's Poetry recital "Yes I'll Marry You" by Pam Ayres, it was brilliantly delivered with humour and emotion, excellent stuff.

Lorraine Kearney read superbly one of my favourites "The Blessing of the Apaches"

We all enjoyed the most exquisite singing during the signing of the register; Panis Angelicus, sung by Cantamus (The link is to Andrea Bocelli's version) & O Mio Bambino, sung so beautifully by Nicola Howard (The link is sung by Sissel)

Huge Congratulations to Beckie & Antony from all of the team at Flower Design
K & A, Kevin & Anita capturing the moment

Beryl's corsage in vivid lemon included Stephanotis, Lemon Calla Lilies, Lemon Celosia and individual Gerbera Petals.

Then to The Grand for the celebrations, we dressed the seating plan screen with a huge martini vase filled with fresh flowers in citrus colours.

The Cake is a simple "Romantic Pearl Cake" from M&S, but we gave it a Flower Design Make over, with garlands of Germini and loops of grasses and chocolate brown leaves.
The tables were dressed with a combination of two simple tidy designs, above a large Clear & Mirrored Cube and a small Clear & Mirrored Cube sat on a large Mirror Tile.
Then on the other tables we designed a contemporary design sat in a tall black Martini vases.

The ladies table favours were a single Germini sat in a liquer glass with a simple name label, the boys had a Lottery Ticket in a black envelope all very smart.

The top table was flanked by the two church pedestals and we dressed the screen behind with pew ends, the table top had a series of glass and mirror cubes in various sizes sat on mirror tiles.

We are so grateful to Rebecca & Antony for choosing Flower Design to create the flowers for their seriously special day, it was an honour and a privilege to be involved.
