Christmas Vintage Wedding at The West Tower, Aughton of Alison Barrow & Adam Rudd

This wedding seemed such a long time in coming, Ali's attended our annual Christmas Wreath Making Workshop, she's visited wedding open days and we'd been to West Tower for a walk through, we'd had a few creative appointments at FD HQ culminating in the creation of Ali's trial wedding bouquet a few weeks prior to the "Big Day" so all in all the foundation work for this splendid day had been pretty thorough, no stone was left unturned.

I've loved helping Alison with the planning and design of her wedding flowers, Ali has the very best taste; subtle romantic shades with just enough of a hint of Christmas to make it truly a memorable festive wedding day!

Thankfully the beautiful Bride was moved to tears by her glorious wedding bouquet, honestly those are tears of joy!!!
And this reaction to the mention of fresh Peonies in the Registrars table design, I mean Peonies in December, who would have thought it!!!!
The Bridesmaid's bouquets were a smaller version of the bridal bouquet created using a collection of pale vintage shaded Roses including Faith, Vendella, Metalina & Snow Flake, lovely seasonal Ranunculas, Bouvardia and Tulips

The Bridal Bouquet was such a delight to create, delicate shades of antique pinks, creams and ivories with  high lights in the Eucalyptus Green greys through to silver a perfect compliment to the green Bridesmaids gowns

The fabulous venue for the ceremony and celebrations was the West Tower at Aughton

To welcome Alison & Adam's guests a huge bell created from grape vine and covered in fresh Mistletoe hung over the entrance porch and encouraged a great deal of kissing!

The outdoor area leading to the front door was decorated with candle lit lanterns and posies of fresh seasonal flowers
We selected flowers to use outside that would enjoy a crisper climate so frilly edged Tulips, Ranunculas and thistles were enlisted to create a lovely floral walk way

The front door looked resplendent dressed with this magnificent seasonal welcome ring of fragrant Evergreens, Classic Hydrangeas, Sweet Avalanche & Vendella Roses, Wax Flower Blossom and fragrant Eucalyptus Globes

As soon as you stepped through the door into the cosy warm and welcoming hall way guests were greeted by a delightful vase of towering Pussy Willow, Roses and Classic Hydrangeas

A magical world of Bridal loveliness awaited the guests, even the elegant staircase was treated to a garland of fresh fragrant herbs and luscious Roses swathed in ivory satin Ribbon

Take a left directly into the Ceremony suite where the scene was set for a truly romantic afternoon
The decor at the West Tower is just perfect, a blank canvas on which to paint your own personal wedding picture, I love the details though, fabulous chandeliers and superb lighting, even I managed some half decent images!
At the top of the small staircase we'd arranged elegant arrangements on top of fabric covered pedestals (these matched the chair covers perfectly) and then placed candle lit candelabras extending the aisle
Once down the stairs Hurricane lamps lined the aisle and fresh fragrant posies were placed on the back of alternate chairs lining the aisle

The cream carpet and chair covers were provided by the excellent team at Creative Cover Hire
The posies on the backs of the ceremony chairs included Ranunculas, silver Eryngium Thistles, Sweet Avalanche Roses, Frilly white Tulips, Thalaspi, Wax Flower, Eucalyptus and Classic Hydrangeas

The Registrars table design was a heavenly concoction of Roses, Peonies, Euphorbia Fulgens, Wax Flower Blossom and a collection of fragrant evergreens all illuminated by two Chapel Candles
The smaller Registrars table to the left of the main table had a smaller design of White Lilac, Roses & Sarah Bernhardt Peonies

The super talented photographer Jonny Draper was in attendance on the day here's a link to his posting of this great day
Whilst the guests were enjoying drinks in the bar the ceremony room was transformed into a magnificent banqueting suite, our pedestal designs were transferred on to giant Martini glasses and placed in the centre of dining tables where they looked stupendous
The "Top Table" was a round table in the centre of the dining room, we arranged a low silver fruit bowl in the centre complete with fresh Peonies and a candle

All of the details were exquisite including the stationery, the tables were named after the Twelve Days of Christmas
Floral Candleabras graced some of the dining tables and helped to create a magical atmosphere

Each couple was presented by a hand inscribed glass bauble to place on their own Christmas Tree
The guests were provided with one of our "Enchanted Trees" on which they could hang their baubles
The tree was dressed with fresh Ranunculas, Blue Spruce and hanging crystals

The seating plan was fantastic you just had to locate the first letter of your Christian name from the table of letters and then the label attached told you where you were seated.

This really was a fabulous wedding day, huge thanks to Alison and Adam for choosing to use Flower Design Events to create their wedding flowers! and many thanks to Adele & Phil for pointing them in the right direction!!!!!
